Seems like my March Glam bag took FORRRRR-EVVV-EEERRRRRR to get to me. In fact, I had the tracking info sent to my phone so I could stalk its every check-in. Once it hit my local post master, I jammed down there and picked it up before it even hit the mail truck. I’ve had such a problem lately with USPS and their sneaky inside jobs (People riping a hole in the packages and just stealing whatever they desired) so RUDE! /rant
Anywhoooooo – I got it in my precious little fingers. Wanna peek?
So fun, right? Now, I have to make something perfectly clear for those of you who receive Ipsy each month. For one, remind yourself that it is only $10 a month. That includes shipping. Just a mere $10 bucks! There are quite a few ladies that seem to complain each month about their items. What I’ve realized is that they haven’t even swatched them to see how they feel or the color payoff it may have. Most of my ipsy bags come with item’s I’ve never heard about or used in my life. This is the reason why I love it so much. I’m introduced to so many cosmetic brands that I normally can’t either afford or find in my town. Also, I noticed that many of the ladies that don’t particularly like their items are absolutely intimidated by HOW to use the item. What is unfortunate is the items don’t come with a card to explain how to use them. They just say what they are and you have to cross your fingers in hopes that the ‘directions’ are printed on the packaging. Most of the time, its not. I then head over to YouTube and find someone who is possibly swatching it or putting it on. You’d be surprised how many ideas you can find. These Ipsy bags literally save me hundreds of dollars per year by allowing me to try deluxe size products to even full size items. Trust the bag, ladies. Explore. It’s really fun once you just learn to dig in.
Anyway, Now that I’ve ranted too many times, I want to share with you the items I received.
** NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Hunk. When I first saw the color of the lipstick I was like “noooooooo! Purple!?!” but THEN I swatched it and it was the most gorgeous berry color. It feels so nice. I’d compare it to a lip balm. I like it ALOT.
** Pur~lisse delicate gentle soymilk cleanser & makeup remover. Huge fan of Pur~lisse and loved this cleanser a lot. You can never have too much cleanser.
** Boo Boo Cover Up: Medium shade. GREAT cover up. It’s a great concealer and camoflauger. Not too thick to where you feel like you are wearing stage makeup, but just enough to feel flawless.
** Dr. Brandt Skincare: Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion. Huge fan of Dr. Brandt Pores No More line but I still have some lessons to learn about mattifiers and what not. Going to be YouTubing this one.
** Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind: Illuminating Face Highlighters. This season I’ve really been into highlighters but at my age I’m not so sure I’m totally into ‘glittered’ highlighters. I was impressed with this one because it is a soft pink tone and the glitter is more like a fine dust. I used this on my lid and applied it with my finger to try it as a shadow as well. It worked out nicely.
** EXTRA item: No clue why I received it but it was a little Kabooki Brush. SCORE! I love when an extra is tossed inside.
The cosmetic bag is really pretty and springy as well. I always have a use for the cosmetic bags… You can’t go wrong with an IPSY subscription. You literally get to try so many brands and products for just pocket change really. Sign up HERE if you want to give it a whirl.
